Hubby's Favorite: Gooey Butter Cake

I am a chocolate fanatic; however, my husband is a butter groupie. He grew up in the southeastern Missouri and spent a lot of time in St. Louis, and there, he learned to eat this wonderfully rich dessert. It wasn't until later that he found a recipe and made this lush dessert for me. While I am partial to chocolate, this recipe filled me with all the warmth that butter can fill you with. This dessert takes on a golden brown crust that parts with little resistance to reveal the ooey-gooey yumminess of the topping, that finishes with a crisp cake finish.

Mix together and press in bottom of a 9x13cake pan:
-1 box of yellow cake mix
-1 stick of butter melted
-1 egg

Blend until smooth of the following:
-8oz package Philadelphia cream cheese
-1lb.box powdered sugar
-2 eggs
Pour over the crust
If you want to add a hand full ( you be the judge of that) of chocolate chips over the top ( like the the photo)
Then generously grease and flour the 9x13 pan.
Bake at 350 until golden brown.
